Connery Grissom is a Southern California metal artist whose practice blends technical precision with artistic exploration. Born and raised in the region, he first learned to weld in high school before developing his skills as an automotive chassis welder-fabricator.
In 2021, while on injury leave from his work as an EMT, Grissom began exploring welding as an artistic medium. He now creates textured, two-dimensional works by welding intricate designs onto stainless steel and using controlled heat to produce vivid, iridescent color shifts.
His work combines industrial craftsmanship with organic movement, drawing inspiration from architectural and visual forms. Grissom regularly participates in juried exhibitions and competitions throughout Southern California. His evolving practice is focused on refining his techniques and expanding the expressive possibilities of metal.
